7 Minute Stagger was co-founded by longtime friends Erik Zarazinski and Greg Joy in 2006. It emerged from their project that was formerly known as Elyxer that disbanded in early 2000. Their vision was to mold a completely different sound that would combine their older frantic metal riffs with newer ideas in the form of crushing breakdowns with intricate structure and catchy melodic interludes. Both having paid their dues behind a drum kit in their own respects, Greg and Erik grasped the guitar with a whole new rhythmic mentality.The next step was to find a vocalist that had the pipes to bring out the brutality and the beauty in the music. They decided not to settle on one voice for the band, but to bring in two different voices that were capable of carrying the brutal and the beautiful. Enter Trey Holton and Amanda Holton; Both were veterans of the local music scene. Amanda would use her seductively powerful chords to find her niche in the melody of the music and Trey would use his aesthetic shattering growls to drive the frenetic portions of the songs. The last item on the list was to find a rhythm section capable of providing a backbone to this audio onslaught. Enter Sean Cottle and Emile Bourbeau.They both provided the driving backbeat and furious staccato of cymbal hits and bass boom that completed Greg and Erik’s vision. After losing Greg to a move to South Carolina, 7:MS picked up former Wreckoning guitarist Russ Beaudoin. 7 Minute Stagger is now poised on the brink of creating a new movement within the deeply rooted Massachusetts metal scene. Their progressive take on melodic metal is supported by an unbridled display of energy and aggression on stage and is not to be missed and cannot be matched.

Some of their riffs sound like Slayer, but the Lamb of God-style screaming approach would be anachronistic to the traditional thrash metal of the 1980s.
