Dreams Come True

Dreams Come True
(A Poem by Jim Slimedog)

Dreams
Of your generation
Don’t usually
Come true
As most dreams don’t
Individually or collectively

Life
Is a disappointment for all
But the unambitious
In scope at least
If not material gain

People
Are a big part
Of the disappointment for most
But not for me

I see the same people, new and old
With the same hopes and dreams
Struggling and surviving
And just being
Intact
With the talent, wonder and guts
That they were born with

Dreams
Ah, that’s just a thing
The sleeping do
Real life
That’s what we tackle
And live on
