    • Abridged Band History: Derek gets kicked out of a party at Dave’s house in fall of ’07. Derek hauls full beer cans at said house. Derek meets Anthony in spring of ’08 and they talk about a band because they both like Leftover Crack. Naturally, nothing comes of it. Derek and Dave actually meet through mutual friends and bond over Streetlight Manifesto and Rancid. Adam pukes in Dave’s livingroom sometime in the spring of ’07. Adam ends up moving in with Dave, fall ’09. Dave introduces Adam to Derek because of uncanny musical similarity (ie. the Suicide Machines). Derek and Adam start jamming and writing songs acoustically. Spring of ’10, Adam gets a gig for his old band that no longer exists. Adam asks Derek and Dave to form a band. Derek calls Anthony to bang on the drums… Since the original lineup, Dave has moved onto some sort of hardcore band or something, Anthony switched to bass, and Derek’s longtime neighbor, Nick Tanzi, hopped in on drums.Fast Forward to August 2010, following a raucous show at Harper’s Ferry w/ the Welch Boys, OC45 went on temporary hiatus because Derek’s a jackass and went to Santiago, Chile to teach English. The band has been writing and collaborating on tons of new material and plans to destroy everything in their path during the summer of 2011 and beyond.

… And we’re back! Unfortunately, Anthony’s commitment to grad school interfered with his participation in OC45 (apparently, earning your doctorate requires a lot of time and energy), but we managed to kidnap Kory Boutin from a local elementary school and took him under our wing as our drummer and protege. Upon Kory’s abduction, errr I mean arrival, Tanzi stepped out from behind the kit, bought a fedora, and learned how to play the bass. Now, thanks to some long-awaited lineup stability, a “treasure trove” of new material, and some really fortunate homecourt bounces, OC45 is poised to record it’s debut album and rip apart a venue near you. Buckle up. We might not make history, but we’re definitely gonna fuck some shit up.

So check out OC45 on MySpace, Reverb Nation and live at a venue near you!

  • “…a bunch of pop-punk cover song faggots!” – Lord Silky
  • “Slimedog – Well, you know that Phil was in The McGunks and I guess he likes the folk guy, and not in the manner of Dave with his puppets. So what ya think of these OC45 guys?
    • Bang – I thought they were way cool…Good, young talent. Phil and Matt (from The Scrapes) were digging them too.
    • Slimedog – At first I was appalled by the technical difficulties but when they did The Clash cover (Career Opportunities) I rejoiced with fervor.
    • Bang – Yes, and I nearly lost my bodily functions at that moment. Good thing I started to leave a change of clothes in my car.” – Thrash N’ Bang
  • “OC45 (Boston, MA) is like taking The Ramones, Rancid, The Bouncing Souls, The Clash and Screeching Weasel; tossing them all into a blender and slapping them on stage in a giant beer glass full of awesomeness. These guys took me right back to the beginning of my punk music career. They fit across a bit of all the punk genres and come at you with an energy that makes you start dancing before the first chord is even ripped. Their blue-collar lyrics and solid punk influences really make these guys a great fit for any punk show. If you roll with punk, book shows, or are a band looking for another set… be sure to give these guys a buzz.” – Steve Knowles – Boston Bloghead
