  • Biography
    • Razormaze was formed in late 2007. Since then, they have completed numerous tours and performed with such acts as Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust, Brutal Truth, Revocation, Havok, and many more.
In 2009 the band signed with local metal label Hold True Recordings and released their debut full length, “The True Speed of Steel”, which received critical acclaim in such publications as Terrorizer, Decibel, Hails and Horns and many more locally based outlets such as The Boston Globe, Herald and Weekly dig and popular internet blogs such as metalsucks.net.
In 2010, the band self-released a follow up EP for free via their bandcamp page (http://razormaze.bandcamp.com) titled “Miseries” which has led to even more media attention.
In the future, Razormaze plans to search for labels and extend their touring reach to Canada, Europe and Beyond.

  • “It’s pretty hard to be a new thrash band in 2010 without being lumped in with all the re-thrash bands of the past 3 years. Those that have been successful at avoiding the generic genre tag either a) have a sense of humor about their music (i.e. Municipal Waste, Rumpelstiltskin Grinder) or b) incorporate other influences into their style (i.e. Revocation, Lazarus A.D.) or both. Boston thrash outfit Razormaze definitely fall into category (b) by blending thrash with a slew of other influences, and at least musically they seem to fall into category (a) as well [though I haven’t spent any time with their lyrics]. The bottom of line is that Razormaze are really good and worth your listening time; download their 3 song EP Miseries for free at their Bandcamp page.” – Vince Neilstein – metalsucks.net
  • “Makes you realize why you fell in love with metal in the first place: the screaming vocals, the screaming guitars and the screaming anthems!” – Ian Webster – Terrorizer
  • “Razormaze pulls no punches when battling its giants, whether it’s with the straight-pummeling speed of “Annihilator,” the growling vocals of “Bleed on Command” or the multiple shifts in tempo on “Desperado.” What sets Razormaze apart is their army-like vocal refrains, when the whole band (and I assume some friends and audience members) joins in the chant. Such tactics are most effective on the climactic closing track, “Slave to the Maze”—”You’re nothing more than just a peon in this place,” singer Alex Citrone belts out. “You’re nothing more than just a slave,” he sings before diving into a crowd chanting “Slave to the maze!” Moments later, a coda keeps the intensity pressure-packed. Throughout True Speed, Razormaze guns the thrash metal machine, bearing down like our mythical hammer-bearer. Jörmungandr best watch its back. “ – Daniel Lucas – The Weekly Dig
