  • “EP REVIEW Always nice to give some love to my home state of Rhode Island, and the nation’s most historically defiant state is well represented with Reason to Fight. If you like old fashion hardcore with rumbling bass, searing guitar, and shout-out along vocals, climb up front and get prepared to be punched silly. Reason to Fight roar on both tracks here, including the classically-trained unity anthem of “Dying Breed” and the celebration of the blue collar workingman, “Hard Working, Hard Drinking, Hardcore”. There is nothing fancy here; just a crisply played, well produced slab of hardcore honesty. Do you really need a review of a band called Chesty Malone and the Slice ‘Em Ups? It’s safe to imagine what you will get, and you will fall to your knees for this act. Oh, if GG Allin was alive today-he would probably be a huge mess, but he would also be on the road with these feisty characters. ” – JERSEY BEAT ZINE
  • “Reason to Fight plays an old school Melodic Hardcore style with furious in your face changes, they elaborate well their songs,in your face emotional lyrics & both songs in this split “Up in Arms” & “Potters Field” are the kind of songs that you can listen without getting bored & of course get a nice cold beer first because you are going to be amazed & blown away. This is ideal for fans of Minor Threath,Kill Your Idols,Agnostic front & Sick of It All.” – Hardcore for life magazine
  • “Reason to Fight-Blood & Glory Lude Boy Records 2006 Reason to Fight have a very old school style of hardcore/punk that fits well with the anger and attitude that is floating all throughout this album. Their songs cover the general hardcore/punk themes of fighting, drinking, and friendship, as well as current social issues. The music is full of so much piss and vinegar that it will most likely enrage the listener, but in a good, run around the room and hit things sort of way. The songs crunch through with heavy guitars, moderate to fast tempo drums and a vocalist with a half scream, half yell, half scream, all unique voice that is backed up very well with the gang vocals, making for many parts to sing along and participate to… ” – B. • “Reason to Fight, the 86’d, Fed Up, Refuse Resist, The Reviles Club Hell in Providence, RI May 16, 2009 Though the crowd started out pretty small, there was a tight knit group of shaved heads, flight jackets, suspenders and other skinhead attire. It seemed like everyone there could have kicked my ass forwards and backwards blindfolded, despite their undenying friendliness. Reason to Fight had the crowd at their fingertips, singing, dancing and just having a good old time to their blue collar hardcore blend. People were trying to get to the mic as often as possible during their many sing along parts. One of Providence’s best hardcore bands, they lived up to that billing with a strong set, even though I left a little early (missing the last three songs) in hopes of catching the other show in time (I obviously missed all of Oxblood).” – B. Forland – the playlist.net
