We’ve got a lot of people asking us what’s up with the Art Show reviews. I say, we’re just trying to expand what we cover as I like all the arts. So I asked them, “What do you want to see reviewed,” and the biggest response we got is Rodeos and Spanish Inquisition reenactments. We couldn’t find any of the later but we’re pleased to announce this is our first Rodeo review put on by Cowboy Keith Brooks and at that lovely, quaint new coffee shop- The Midway Café.

So strap yourself to your saddles, kick your spurs into your ass and get ready for a wild stampede of words and texting. What we call “dual texting” and what others call “a useless waste of internet space taking up valuable area that could be used to relinquish the obvious lack of porn.”

Slimedog- I notice you’re staring at my white ten gallon cowboy hat and light blue rhinestone studded suit.

Andy Bang- Ah, yup, I was just wondering if I should have worn mine as well. Is Elvis in the house?

Slimedog- No, I believe the punk show scheduled today has been canceled and they’re having a rodeo instead.

Andy- Wow a rodeo huh? Are you playing a part in the rodeo?

Slimedog- No this is the way I usually dress now. How come there’s a band setting up?

Andy- Hmm, I think the rodeo is off, looks like Class Struggle is taking the stage.

Slimedog- Dammit! And I invited Billy Ray Cyrus. But these guys sound pretty good. This is our first time seeing them.

Andy- I know. These guys play an awesome combination of hardcore and thrash.

Slimedog- A very young band doing gutsy hardcore with changing rhythms. Now it’s time for N.Hood Fecal Matter.

Andy- Huh?

Slimedog- Oh, fuck- we’re not supposed to say their real name. It’s Neighborhood Horse Manure.

Andy- Oh yah, now I remember, no fuck or shit words. For a threesome these guys really pack a punch.

Slimedog- They have an interesting, unique style. I think they’re more metal than punk with a bit of doom, as well.

Andy- Agreed. I think this is my third time seeing them and they sound better every time.

Slimedog- That’s true. Hey, is that Jaime riding a bull in front of the stage?

Andy- Or maybe somebody let The Pity Whores in by mistake?

Slimedog- Yeah, it could be them. Anyways now he’s playing his bass with A Dying Breed. He’s got a great tone and is an excellent rider, as well.

Andy- Hmm, that must be bass lingo. A Dying Breed definitely has a way of getting things pumped up.

Slimedog- Yeah, this is the best I’ve heard them. The drummer’s great, too. I believe I’m hearing what will probably be the best set of the day.

Andy- Hey look there’s Mousey from Reason To Fight, looks like he brought a date.

Slimedog- Nope that’s his daughter and now he’s hopping on stage to sing a song with them.

Andy- Cool, let’s slam dance, but keep that rhinestone belt buckle away from me.

Slimedog- Okay. Oh, No! Now Billy Ray Cyrus has stopped by to do a number. What a talented daughter Billy has.

Andy- Did he bring his daughter? I hope she does a number, too. I mean, also.

Slimedog- Yes, it’s great how these young pop stars play this music that whore’s itself out and when they get older they act that way on stage. That was exciting and the next band is, too- Cry Havoc!

Andy- True. Cry Havoc plays old school hardcore that reminds me of the days of yor.

Slimedog- Strange, strong vocals with great hardcore that has some prog elements. I’m surprised the singer didn’t split his head open today.

Andy- Actually I’m kind of glad he didn’t. The last time was a bit disturbing. Looks like he still hasn’t got much sleep though.

Slimedog- Another surprise was a Bad Brains cover instead of the usual Minor Threat. Oh, look- T.J. (the soundman) is roping a steer! How did that get in here?

Andy- That’s no steer, that’s Midway Dave. How did he get in here?

Slimedog- Yes, he does need to be restrained. Now, Tenebrae is taking the stage.

Andy- You’ve seen these guys numerous times and have always been impressed. I’m really looking forward to their set.

Slimedog- Mix of metal with hardcore. A very adept band.

Andy- Wow they’re tearing it up! The sound is awesome. I might have to give Tenebrae the nod for the best set of the day.

Slimedog- I knew they would be your type of band. Very good set and very good show.

Andy- Agreed. Now let’s go ride the mechanical bull.

Slimedog- Oh, shit. Rocky The Pug beat us to it!
