Billie Holiday

Billie Holiday
(A Poem by Jim Slimedog)

This is a story
About Billie Holiday
Just about the best gosh darn
Singer ever

And she died an early death
In a hospital
Under police watch
If she survived
I guess they’d have taken her to jail

And I can’t believe in a God
That would let this happen
Or in a life
That I’m expected to believe is good

I will hate a God or life
That ever let this happened
And I believe
How I feel
Is good
Well, not good
But you know what I mean
How life and God is
