Lo Mein

I would like some lo mein
I would like to live in a life
Where cruelty is not the norm
I would like to live in a life
Where death
Wasn’t a welcome respite for many
Where the meek
Weren’t driven headlong into the sand
A land, or place
Where justice, goodness
Wasn’t a platitude
But a given right
I would like some lo mein
I would like all of life’s creatures
To live without pain
I would like all the devils and demons
Amongst us and within us
To die off, perish into the sea
I don’t think I have a chance
Of any of this happening
Guess I should lower my expectations
I would like some lo mein
