Led to the Grave – CD & EP
The first time I saw Led to the Grave was at the Metal vs Punk II show at the Middle East nightclub in Cambridge, MA. They were the first of 6 bands to play that night. Without too much fanfare they took the stage and commenced to drum up demons from below with their own excitingly unholy brand of thrash metal. I remember really enjoying their set and made a mental note to check them out again real soon.
So, now, many months later, TNB has decided to honor all the fine work these brave lads from Cape Cod are doing with a featured interview and CD/EP review. You can find Slimedog’s interview with Led to the Grave here.
The band members of Led to the Grave are Chris Crobar on vocals and guitar, CT Thomas on vocals and guitar, Pete Hamilton on bass and Kenny Goshgarian on drums. Their self titled CD, Led to the Grave, was released back in 2008 and contains 10 very cool, very rockin’, evil thrash metal songs that any thrash lovin’ enthusiast should have no trouble diggin’. Each song is the embodiment of the essential ingredients required of all good metal concoctions; speed, loudness, energy and aggression. Led to the Grave’s musical tendency leans towards the demonic side of metal with a consistently up beat, driven, high energy vibe. You can call them thrash, you can call them death, you can call them black, even groove and metalcore at times. But, at the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter what you call them. Led to the Grave equates to one hot rockin’ good time. As I was listening to the CD (and half way to hell), I couldn’t help but notice Led to the Grave’s undeniably excelent musicianship. These guys definitely know how to play and rock out. I thoroughly enjoyed the CD. You can check out a few of it’s tracks below:

Crafted with more speed and technical complexity than their previous CD, “Sent to Burn” is a 5 song EP that delivers an explosive high energy non-stop aggressive onslaught with a tendency towards metalcore (we saw glimpses of this on their self titled CD in Portrait of Evil and Speed Junkie). The boys have incorporated a bit more hardcore into the mix at the expense of some of their evilness (with the exception of the Architect of Doom) which is very understandable; after all, its kind of difficult to be evil at a million miles per hour (try it yourself … you’ll find you’re too busy screaming). At any rate, “Sent to Burn” is a legitimately awesome EP proving once again that Led to the Grave is an undeniable musical force to be reckoned with. Here are a few tracks from the EP below:
